A Sitemap for search engines is an XML format file in which all website pages are listed. Your site's XML Sitemap should be submitted to search engines so as to notify them of related newly created pages or other pages that may have not yet been detected during the process of crawling.

Use text for linking a homepage to other pages. Search engine robots are programmed in such a way that can only view text links rather than JavaScript or Flash files while indexing the web pages content.  A link appearing as an image or flash file can go unnoticed.
